Math Resources in the Curriculum Library

The Curriculum Library offers a variety of resources related to teaching mathematics including manipulatives, children's books about math concepts, and curriculum planning materials. Math resources can be found in all three sections of the Curriculum Library: Juvenile Books, Picture Books, and Curriculum Materials.

Three Steps to Finding Math Resources

step 1 search the catalog

The Curriculum Materials section contains classroom resources like manipulatives, as well as textbooks and curriculum planning resources. One way to find these is to search the online catalog using Advanced Search. From the Advanced Search screen, set the search library to "Gordon College" and set the location  to "Curriculum Library."

Use keywords like "mathematics," "algebra," or "common core."

The Juvenile and Picture sections contain books that teach math concepts through pictures and stories.

These can be found using a basic keyword search. From the Jenks Library homepage, search for keyword "juvenile" along with math-related terms such as "mathematics," "counting," or "algebra."

step 2 decipher the call number

Read call numbers as if they are a mailing address, going from broad to specific information.
