Primary Source Material

The key to identifying primary source materials is determining if this source originated or was created during the time under study. Primary sources were present during the event or time period and offer a first-hand perspective on the historical event or time period under study. Examples of primary source material include:

ORBIS
ORBIS: The Stanford Geospatial Network Model of the Roman World reconstructs the time cost and financial expense associated with a wide range of different types of travel in antiquity. It contains 632 sites, many of which are urban settings.
