An index to scholarly research published in journals and books in the field of philosophy and covering topics including aesthetics, axiology, epistemology, ethics, and logic. The Philosopher's Index contains research published since 1940 from more than 1,850 journals.

Search a subset of Gale Academic OneFile journals covering different religions and philosophies. Provides insight into the impact of religion on culture throughout history, including literature, arts, and language.

Provides indexing and full text of over 350 major religion and theology journals. Coverage begins in 1908.

Gale OneFile: Gender Studies provides access to scholarly journals and magazines covering topics including gender studies, family and marital issues, health aspects, and more.

A collection of core scholarly journals, many going back to the first volume. Emphasis is on back issue coverage and does not include the current 3-5 years, unless Gordon has a current subscription to the journal. JSTOR provides long term preservation for journals.
MLA International Bibliography with Full Text This link opens in a new window
Combines the definitive index for the study of language, literature, linguistics, rhetoric and composition, folklore, and film with full text for more than 1,000 journals, including many of the leading publications in these fields. Produced by the Modern Language Association (MLA) and international in scope, the bibliography covers scholarly publications from the early 20th century to the present, including journal articles, books, series, translations, websites, and dissertations. The database also includes MLA Directory of Periodicals and the MLA Thesaurus.

Peer-Reviewed Journal Articles

Peer-Reviewed or Scholarly Journal articles are written by scholars or professionals who are experts in their field of research. The article that these scholars/professionals have written are in turn reviewed and edited by other professionals in the field before it can be accepted for publication in the journal.

How do you know if the articles you are finding are published in peer-reviewed journals? Use the following criteria to evaluate your information to determine if it is a peer-reviewed source.

Scholarly journal articles usually contain an abstract summarizing the contents of the article.
All sources used for writing the article are cited either in footnotes or bibliographies.
The article is written by experts in the field of study. Usually author's credentials will be listed either at the beginning or the end of the paper.
Language of the article is intended for an informed, educated audience that is somewhat familiar with the material (i.e. not intended layperson).
Journal the article is published has submission requirements that involve an editorial or review process.

The major women's studies journal in Britain including articles on contemporary feminist analysis, changing political issues and book reviews.

Articles that focus on women's experience and on gender as a category of analysis of a critical, scholarly, speculative and political nature, poetry and art, reports from the women's movement and strategies for change.
Feminist Theology: The Journal of the Britain and Ireland School of Feminist Theology
Aims to give a voice to the women of Britain and Ireland in matters of theology and religion.
